Kadlec Medical Center is donating 120 computers to schools in Pasco, Kennewick and Richland. Kadlec has a regular schedule of replacing computers in its system-wide network, and the donated units are among those that are being taken out of service.
While the computers are no longer optimal for the clinical and hospital setting at Kadlec, they do have usefulness for the schools in their computer training.
“We’re happy the computers can be used by the schools,” said Dave Roach, Kadlec vice president for information systems. “We recognize the importance of technology in our world, especially among school-aged children. We’re pleased these computers will be able to be used by students throughout the Tri-Cities.”
The computers have an estimated value of about $20,000.
